A Street with Stories, A Gallery with Vision

Our gallery is located on Pavle Ingorokva Street one of the most historically and culturally significant areas of Tbilisi.

The street dates back to the 19th century, built during a time when Tbilisi was expanding into a European-style city under the Russian Empire. It was part of the city's urban modernization plan, designed to house members of the elite—nobility, scholars, writers, and artists.

Over the years, the street underwent several name changes   But in 1990, following Georgia’s regained independence, it was renamed Pavle Ingorokva Street in honor of the prominent Georgian historian.

Our gallery is located in the very house where Pavle Ingorokva himself lived—a building that later became a creative and intellectual hub. One of its most notable residents was the legendary Soviet composer Mikael Tariverdiev, whose hauntingly beautiful scores continue to inspire generations.

Many Soviet films were shot on this street, including the beloved classic “Melodies of the White Nights” (Veris Ubnis Melodiebi). With its elegant architecture, cozy balconies, gardens, and nostalgic charm, buiding  became a favorite among filmmakers seeking to capture the poetic soul of Tbilisi.

About the Gallery

Founded in 2020 during the pandemic by two childhood friends, the gallery was created to support and elevate the photography industry in Georgia. With a vision to give local photographers a platform to be seen and heard, the gallery opened its first exhibition in September 2020, originally offering both exhibitions and photography studio services.

In 2023, the gallery shifted fully toward curatorial work, evolving into a dedicated art space with an international outlook. It began actively participating in art fairs, publishing in global journals, and taking part in major auctions—proudly becoming the first Georgian photo gallery to successfully enter the international art market.

The gallery continues to grow, connect, and carry Georgian photography to the world stage.

By choosing this street as the home for our gallery, we honor not only contemporary art but also the deep cultural and cinematic legacy that makes this place truly special.
